McKnight Doctoral Fellowship

The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship (MDF) from the Florida Education Fund (FEF) supports new Ph.D. students with the aim of broadening backgrounds among faculty in the state of Florida.

The FEF awards up to 50 of these fellowships each year for pursuit of a Ph.D. degree at the University of Florida and eight other Florida universities.

This fellowship includes…

  • A stipend of $28,000 a year for three years ($13,000 from FEF, $15,000 from UF degree program)
  • Up to $5,000 tuition a year for three years
  • A fee waiver
  • Health insurance
  • Plus two more years of equal support from UF degree program

...for up to five years total for a Ph.D. student.

McKnight candidates who apply to UF are also eligible for a graduate admission application fee waiver. To get that fee waiver, contact the UF Office of Admissions via this link: Contact UF Admissions.
