Welcome! A Message from UF Graduate School Dean Nicole Stedman

Release Date: August 23 2021

Dear Students, Faculty, Administrators, and Staff,

What a joy it is for me, as new Dean of the Graduate School, to offer all of you a warm welcome as we kick off the 2021-2022 academic year together!

A new academic year offers the promise of a fresh start and plentiful prospects for rekindled commitment to our mutual pursuit of that grand adventure we call graduate education.

And a grand adventure it is, for graduate education is far more than a matter of books and classes, assignments and degree requirements. Rather, it is an open invitation to embrace purpose and pursue passion, to make connections and build relationships, in a profound bid for deeper understanding, personal growth, more expansive humanity, and a better world.

At the start of this new academic year, we undeniably face unique and unprecedented challenges. But let us keep in mind that challenges are in fact opportunities to learn, grow, and work together — and that healthful self-care and considerate concern for others are absolutely key to facing them. Please make a priority of practicing both!

Finally, don’t be a stranger! Learn more about our Graduate School programs, services, and resources on our website: graduateschool.ufl.edu. Visit us at our home base: 106 Grinter Hall. Or get in touch with us at 352 392 6622 or gradschool@aa.ufl.edu.

All the best to all of you as we embark on the grand adventure of graduate education together!

Go Gators!
