Office of Graduate Professional Development
The Office of Graduate Professional Development (OGPD) promotes and coordinates professional development activities for a variety of career opportunities within and outside academe. Students are offered opportunities to engage in various workshops and other events to gain additional skills in areas transcending disciplinary knowledge and content. Topics include both written and oral communication with nonscientific audiences, the ethical conduct of inquiry, critical thinking and others. OGPD collaborates with partner organizations, particularly the Career Resource Center to create opportunities for students to have professional experiences such as internships and international experiences that which include the option to teach at a partner institution.
