2020 Graduate Education Diversity Champion Award
Joseph Ryan is a faculty at UF’s Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience and assistant professor in Biology. He and his team study how changes in genomes over evolutionary time drive evolutionary change in animal lineages. They study a range of marine invertebrate animals, including many of those that live in the pristine waters in the marine habitats near the Whitney Lab.
Dr. Ryan is the faculty advisor of UF’s chapter of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science.
