I am a PhD student in the Kawahara Lab and I study multiple aspects of the evolution and biology of the strange, poorly understood, New World family of moths called “sack-bearers” (Mimallonidae). These odd insects are called sack-bearers for the caterpillars’ unique case that they build and carry around on host plants.
