Brianna B. Posadas
2019 Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society Inductee
Brianna B. Posadas is a candidate for the Ph.D. in human-centered computing at the University of Florida (UF). Her research focuses on the design, construction, and evaluation of a crowd-sourcing application to aid consumers to complete ground truthing for agricultural researchers.
Brianna has been recognized as a McKnight Doctoral Fellow, University of Florida Graduate School Fellow, and a Media Democracy Fund PhDx Fellow. Brianna received her Bachelor of Science in engineering from Harvey Mudd College where she was a Harvey Mudd Merit Award recipient. She has also earned her Master of Science in agricultural engineering from UF where she was also selected as a NSF East Asia and Pacific Summer Institute (EAPSI) Fellow.
Brianna has contributed to the support of minority students at UF through the co-founding of the Latino/Hispanic Organization of Graduate Students (LOGRAS), serving as a McNair peer advisor, and advising as a graduate student ambassador for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). She looks forward to continuing her research at the intersection of engineering, agriculture, and policy to create better informed consumers and citizen scientists who can contribute to the big data conversation and become empowered advocates.
